8-15 'twould not do me any good.
So don't intend saying about it till
I get home.  Am dissatisfied at Base
#9 so hope to be transferred to Bor-
     deaux
16-23" Rather an uneventful week
Quiet at hospital, one train in
         with 122 patients.  Stafford, Barrows
         Ross, Bradley, Apperson, Corbin
         Chamberlain, Powers, left on S.L
         for Biarritz.  Only diversion has
been to sit in yard & watch air-
         plains, there being several air-
         ation fields near here.  Largest
at Issoudun, 18 mi. Am contin-
         uing to improve, sleeping better
         less muscular spasms and
         back ache about gone. Into
the city once. Several lettrs from
D- last one date Apr. 13.
Greatest pleasure is daily letter to D.
Am about back now to normal
         weight but not strength which
seems to come slowly.  Dr. advises
sick-leave but I prefer going to
         duty when leave here.  Wound
         closed except small sinus.
24-31
         Uneventful week. No letters from
home. Usual methods of killing time -
To movies at night, loafing about during
the days. Sinus persists, probably from
end of rib.  All fairly quiet at hos-
pital. All who felt like it were
         off for somewhere on Decoration
Day.  Pay voucher in 100 to Bnk of
         Clearwater, cash 75.13.

                                   JUNE-

1-7. No events of importance.  Lots of
dope from front but none ver-
       ified.  wound still draing but
       feel much better.  Muscular spasms
       and pulsing sensation about gone
so rest good at night.  Had sev-
eral walks which tired me con-
       siderably but no ill effects.
Start on rountine again Jn 7 Friday.
