          Enjoying life as much as
possible under physical condi-
tions.  Wound still discharging
tho lessening, & at times quite
uncomfortable.  Have seen the
city of Biarritz and all its at-
tractions.  Anxious to get well
& go to duty.  Had several letters 
from Ditty tho would of course
like more.
Only drew $75.13 of April pay send-
ing $100 to bank.  Drew all of May
pay home. The month has been
rather uninteresting one as life
this far back is quite dull.
Aside from enjoying the wonder-
ful climate at B- & also the
scenery it has been a month
of restless waiting.

                                  August - 1918.
1-7 A trip to Bayonne, 1/2 hrs.
ride in the train to break mo-
notony.  Many interesting places
it being an old fortified city
with wall & mote well pre-
served, Castle built 1130 still
stands, also a part of old
Cathedral built in 12" century.

Drew $75.13 of April pay.
Drew all of May         "
Sent all of June         "  to bank
Allotment to begin with
July pay _ for six months
ending June 31.

8-15 Just another week of killing
time in hopes & expectations that
this sinus would heal but prac-
tically no difference as to amount
of discharge tho much more com-
fortable as to soreness and stiff-
ness about wound.
Spend time of mornings in bed
