                         December
The large and magnificent bridge buit
by war prisoners.
Had nice room and mess at Irlich
but bed too short.  Still running
temp. and feeling rotten  Tho Emetin
seems to be doing good.
On 26" left Ihrlich going to Engers and
occupying one bldg. of college to oper- 
ate hospt. for Skin and Contagious cases
opening on 27" Feeling some better
temp. falling.  Good billet in annex.
Warm & comfortable room.
Can care for 200 patients - operated
till Jan. 6 when took over F.H. 1 which
was doing triage work.
Keeping now all Pneumonias
Mail beginning to come regular.
Beginning to feel better.  no more
temp or night sweats. yet not sleeping
well.
                 January. 1919
Took over F.H. 1 on 6" doing triage
and taking care of other cases.
Lt. Col. Derby left 4" acct. Roosevelts
death.
Averaged death daily from auto
and truck accidents - 5 citizens
killed. one jeweler who'd just re-
turned from 4 yrs. service and
opened his shop. "Traumatic Rupture
of lung." 
Averaging 80 patients daily.
Weather has been fine - fairly
cold but clear and dry.
Usual hospital duties during the month.

Month started with much more
sickness - 100 patients on 5"
9" Memorial Services for Teddy.
River full of ice.
14" First crop of ["culls?"] from 9th
and 23" Inf. passed thru.
Wine-supper by Brandenburger-
leaving for states on 15"
Average no. patients still high -
for the month 180 daily.
Feeling fine lately, gaining
weight and sleeping better.
