Early train for Rhiems - through
devastated region nothing left
whole in R. visited trenches - no
man's land - souvenirs - Wonderful
Cathedral - still more sumblime in its
ruins - Wonderful weather

Back through town after town in ruins
dug out & trenches all the way -
Reach C T. about 6 P.M. town in ruins
went to hotel all shattered - many generals -
early to bed.
