JULY 3

     We lay around in the backyard

all morning soaking up some sun and

then went down to St. John’s later on in

the afternoon to find Dad still feeling

quite rotten.  Dr. Eckerson today said

that Dad is on the verge of pneumonia

--- and that his heart isn’t too good.

Those combined with his leg trouble

seem to point out to a long period

of recovery.  God, I hope it turns

out all right.

     I went up to Audrey’s this

evening --- looked at all the lovely

things in her hope chest and just

sat around talking.  I still ex-

pect her to wear herself out

waiting for Jack to appear on the

scene.
