JULY 23
With a slight champagne hangover
I boarded the White plains Train to
spend a few days with Beth. She and
Dris met me and we went back to
the McClelland’s for lunch – talked awhile –
and then went to see Ida Lupino in
“Pillow to Post” and the ever-corny
“Escape in the Desert.” Dinner was
delicious and then we spent the
evening playing bridge with Mr.
and Mrs. McC. in hysterical fashion.
They’re all such grand people and
I love ‘em good!
A good letter from Bill before
I left – he still didn’t know
his immediate future!
