OCTOBER 6
The heavens split all day and
yet inspite of the downpour Mother
drove me, Lou, Sheila, Jean and
Vicki (down from Maine for the
weekend) into N.Y. to meet some
more KDs for lunch at Ye Peg
Woffington’s. After catching up on all
the news, Elaine, Lou, Dris, Jean,
Shorty and I went to see “Story
of G.I. Joe.” Twas the simple and
effective unfolding of the infantry
soldier tale which gave a deeper
sense of understanding than all
the bugle-blowing tactics. All the
American strikers should be
forced to see it!
I went to the hospital and
then on home to crawl sleepily
into bed.
