DECEMBER 28

     We worked like beavers today in

a pleasant ish sort of atmosphere, as

another four day holiday looms on the

horizon.

     This evening I met Beth and Elaine

for another tremendously pleasant

evening.  We indulged in smörgasbrd

at the Three Crowns, going about it

in smooth fashion until we

became faintly hysterical as

we opened our mutual ex-

change of Christmas gifts with

much crackling of gaily colored

wrappings.  We created a mildly

tranquil sensation! – After

two hours there we strolled up

and down Fifth Avenue before

ending up at Rockefeller Plaza

to watch the skating under the

huge Yuletide Tree.  Such wonderful

girls!
