JANUARY 1, 1945

1945  Another brand new year,

with thoughts and prayers

for victory and peace being

most important in everyone’s

mind and heart!  I pray

that our hopes and wishes

do come true – I want

the end of the war and the

beginning of a truly happy,

normalish life -- so very badly.

     It was a rainy day and

we stayed close to home.

Bill couldn’t get a pass and

I’m afraid that last night

was the last time for awhile,

but even so our dreams and

plans kept me beaming.  We’ve

come a long way in the past

four years: - from Willkie buttons

to a school ring and talk of

other rings to come.
